9th Annual Candlelight Holiday Home Tour
Sunday, December 13, 2009
4:00 - 7:00 PM
December 13 will be the date for the 9th annual Candlelight Holiday Home Tour, featuring some of the most charming homes of Kennett Square, each decorated in the personal style of the owners.
The Historical Commission is pleased to offer this event and is grateful to the homeowners, businesses and places of worship that have agreed to open their doors to our guests this year. All sites are open from 4:00 to 7:00 PM.
Tickets are $20 ($12 for residents of the 19348 zip code, limited to 6 per household. Name, address and email are required at time of purchase) and available for purchase by cash or check at the following locations: Kennett Square Inn, The Mushroom Cap, Bedbugzz..., Bove Jewelers, Sunrise Cafe and Tearoom, Equinox, The Paper Market and Kennett Square Borough Hall or online below.
This year's tour will feature one of the town's oldest existing businesses, Barber's Florists, which grew from the carnation and mushroom growing industry, The Church of the Open Door, which made its home in an 1855 Gothic-style building and myriad and diverse homes. Explore the turn of the 20th Century home of a scrap-yard owner, festooned with bracketed woodwork and a shingled turret, a mid-Century rancher with folk art tin Christmas ornaments and a Zen garden, and a 1917 stone Craftman style home, decorated with a vintage Santa Claus collection and antique ornaments. Many other homes will be open for your delight, amusement and inspiration.
As a courtesy to our property owners, we respectfully request that no strollers or babes in arms be on the tour. Permission to photograph indoors or outdoors is at the discretion of the homeowner.
